Ancient Greeks 600bc knew about evolution?

So what? Empedocles of Acragus (c. 490-430 BC) believed that disembodied body parts floated around until they eventually came together and formed monsters, a few of which were actually capable living and reproducing. This is arguably the beginning of the theory of evolution. Greek philosophy was not based on evidence such as experiments whose results can be replicated as modern science does.
