Which degree is better in Astronomy to get a quick job?
There are an awful lot more job opprotunities if you major in geology or geophysics as an undergraduate. As long as you take lots of math and physics courses, some of which you'll be required to take as a physics major any way, you should not have any problems getting into graduate school in a physics or astrophysics department, IF your desire is to go into cosmology or astrophysics. If your are interested (to the point of being obsessed) with planetary geology, get a master's in geophysics or geology. ONCE you get to the point of applying to graduate schools for admission to a Ph.D. program, be aware that there are only about FIVE universities that have a planetary geology program - Brown University, Arizona State University, University of Arizona, University of Colorado at Boulder, and Caltech.
