I want to be an astronomer but I am not great at math.?
I am going to attend UCSC this upcoming Fall and have proposed my major as Astronomy. I want to obtain a PHd and become a professor. I must admit however that I am not really good at math. I made it to Pre-Calculus in high school and have passed most of my high school math classes with a C. I know astronomy has an immense amount of math but I am willing to assist as much tutoring as possible and start from the very basics of math in order to succeed in my career.Even if I have the motivation do you think there is still a possibility I will not make it? Can I still be an astronomer even if I maybe a bit slow in math? Do I really have to be good at math from the start?
